    COVID-19 Update
    March 26, 2020

With worldwide concerns of COVID-19, Zeller+Gmelin Corporation wants to assure our valued partners that we have taken preemptive actions to ensure continued supply from our foreign manufacturing suppliers and US distributors during this time.  As a global organization that manufactures energy cured printing ink products, we have developed and retained long standing and secure relationships with our suppliers worldwide for many decades. As we have a significant presence in North America and Europe, we can leverage our raw material requirements through many different channels.

It is always our practice to maintain efficient raw material inventory levels. However, with the issues in China over the past year, concerning some raw materials, we have further increased our import shipment forecasting to six months as well as increased purchase quantities from suppliers in Asia.  Also, our US distributors have informed us of their ability to increase purchase volumes and warehoused inventory levels.  Our manufacturing quantities and inventory levels of our finished products have also been increased to assure continued supply to our valued partners without interruptions.

We want to reassure you, our valued partners, that we have taken the necessary steps, actions and precautions to maintain our international supply chain and are confident at this time that Zeller+Gmelin Corporation can accommodate your product orders without any interruption and the same service and quality you have become accustomed to.

Below are few answers to common questions that have been asked. We will be providing updated information on a weekly basis, or as it becomes available, until this pandemic has subsided.

Q: Has Zeller+Gmelin been affected internally with COVID-19?
A: NO – None of the Zeller+Gmelin employees worldwide have been diagnosed positive to date.

Q: Has Zeller+Gmelin been affected externally by COVID-19?
A: NO – None of our vendors have been affected at this time

Q: Is Zeller+Gmelin deemed essential and are we planning to maintain operations?
A: Zeller+Gmelin is a business that supplies other essential businesses with the support or supplies necessary to operate.  Zeller+Gmelin is considered an essential business due to the fact our inks are used in the pharmaceutical, medical packaging, food packaging, and beverage industry.  These products are necessary during this Global Pandemic.

Zeller+Gmelin corporate and its branch network plans to remain in operation.  We stand with our customers and will continue to manufacture and supply our products to those who are providing the life-saving items needed during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In Summary, Zeller+Gmelin will remain open and will continue to manufacture and supply the necessary inks for our customers still producing globally needed products.  This will remain the case until further notice.  We will follow all state and national mandates and will continue to update you through our website as this situation evolves.

Q: What if one or more Zeller+Gmelin locations are affected by COVID-19?
A: Zeller+Gmelin has three main locations worldwide with the milling and processing equipment capable of manufacturing the inks that are currently made in the USA. We also have additional milling and processing equipment on a smaller scale in our Texas facility. We have the capability of transferring technical and formulation information between our corporate location and our parent company, Zeller+Gmelin GmBH, located in Eislingen, Germany.

Q: Are you building up additional stock of products in order to be prepared in worst case scenarios?
A: Zeller+Gmelin Corporation has ten locations throughout the US, Canada and Mexico and each has enough allocated stock for their individual customers that can be reapportioned to other Zeller+Gmelin locations if needed.

Q: What precautions has your company done to educate the prevention of transmission of COVID-19?
A: In a company wide effort to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in the workplace, HR has communicated to all employees and asked them to do the following:

    – Stay home if not feeling well.
    – Wash hands frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds.
    – Visitors are not permitted in any Zeller+Gmelin facilities.
    – Work remotely if position allows.
    – Keep a 6 foot distance between each other whenever possible.
    – Avoid congregating / break rooms have been temporarily closed.
    – Stay in work area / do not use other employee desks or phones.
    – Cover your mouth with tissues whenever you sneeze, and discard used tissues in the trash.
    – Avoid people who are sick with respiratory symptoms.
    – Clean frequently touched surfaces.

We have provided employees with large containers of alcohol-based hand sanitizer throughout the workplace and in common areas.  As well as provided cleaning sprays and wipes to clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces such as telephones and keyboards.

We asked employees not report to work while they are experiencing respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills or fatigue. Also, to remain at home until at least 24 hours after they are free of fever (100 degrees F or 37.8 degrees C) or signs of a fever without the use of fever-reducing medications.

Q: What Zeller+Gmelin doing to ensure there is no Covid-19 risk when we receive material?
A:  In an effort to reduce overall transmission of the Covid-19 virus, we have educated our employees to employ CDC recommended hygienic and work practices (including working from home where feasible) as well as social distancing practices.  Additionally, Zeller+Gmelin has instructed all shipping and receiving companies to not enter our facility. They must stay in their trucks and allow us to do all of the loading and unloading. This is also the case for smaller packages and packing slips that need to be dropped off or signed. These are to be placed in a container outside and collected to eliminate any person to person interaction with no signatures. Shipping and receiving personnel are required to use all of the recommended PPE by the CDC. The shipping and receiving areas are required to be sanitized and cleaned frequently. We have limited our outbound receiving companies to a select few to reduce our footprint. As the conditions develop and evolve, we are as well.
